How a job runs
The person who answers the phone asks what you see and whether water is coming in. That decides whether the first visit is a tarp or an inspection, and it is all that is needed to schedule it.
On site the roofer walks the roof with a camera, checks the flashings, the valleys, the covering and the attic side where he can, and writes the estimate: what is wrong, what the fix is, the materials by product name, the underlayment and flashings, the decking rate, the permit, the warranty and the cleanup. You see the photos before you see the price, and the work starts when you have agreed to the scope.
The crew does the work as written, never leaves the roof open overnight, hauls the debris and sweeps the yard with a magnet. You get the photos of the finished roof and the warranty documents, and the number you called is the number you call if anything is not right.
